To celebrate the launch of the inaugural State of Australian Startup Funding report, we invite you to join a panel discussion covering 2021’s record year for Australian startup investment moderated by the Australian Financial Review’s Yolanda Redrup. You’ll hear from some of Australia’s top investors as they dive into key fundraising trends and sentiment, identify the common fundraising challenges and opportunities founders face, and share where they see the fundraising ecosystem going in 2022 and beyond.

Yolanda Redrup: Senior Journalist at the Australian Financial Review
Yolanda is an award-winning journalist who writes on technology and healthcare from the AFR’s Melbourne newsroom.

Alister Coleman: Founder & Partner of Folklore
Alister is a Partner and the Founder of Folklore, a Sydney-based venture capital firm backing startups built by Australian and New Zealand founders with global ambition. Founded in 2013, Folklore is a 'first cheque to forever' venture capital firm built by startup investors, operators and founders that invests over the full journey of their companies.

Kylie Frazer: Co-Founder & Partner at Flying Fox Ventures
Kylie Frazer is a co-founder and partner of Flying Fox Ventures, an early-stage investment firm supporting Australian and New Zealand founders with global ambition. Flying Fox has over 30 companies in its portfolio and has enabled hundreds of folks to start or turbocharge their investment journeys. Kylie brings empathy to the founder experience, having founded two technology businesses. She has almost two decades of experience as a corporate transactions lawyer (M&A, capital raisings, and IPOs) and is a capable company director.

Elicia McDonald: Partner at AirTree Ventures
Elicia is a Partner at AirTree and has been part of the investment team since 2016. AirTree is an early and growth-stage venture capital fund managing with over a billion dollars of funds under management. Prior to AirTree, Elicia worked in Enterprise Sales at LinkedIn and a B2B SaaS startup in Sydney. She also worked in Investment Banking as part of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications M&A team at Credit Suisse. Elicia has a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney.

Matt Allen: Co-Founder & CEO at Tractor Ventures
Matt is a software developer, ex-CTO, ex co-founder, ex-recruiter, ex-BD guy. In his own words, that’s a lot of ex’s! Now he’s focussed on early-stage investing with a bias towards founders building enduring companies over the long haul.
