About this event

On May 4th, Queensland's thriving space sector will come together to discuss current and future opportunities and challenges; share learnings and experiences; and build and grow their network to foster future collaborations and partnerships.

SpaceQLD 2.0 features a dynamic line-up of industry-leaders, technical experts and researchers for a diverse program of conversations, keynotes and networking opportunities. You can choose to participate to the entire program or choose individual sessions.

The event has been designed in partnership with the sector and is presented by Advance Queensland, the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport and the State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, with the support of Boeing and Hypersonix.

Space exploration for tomorrow’s world

Michael Elsperman, Director of Space Exploration, Boeing (USA)

Michael Elsperman is at the forefront of global space exploration, as part of NASA's Artemis mission to establish a long-term human presence on the moon. And from the moon ... to Mars. In this interactive keynote, Michael will share how it is the heads, hands and hearts of a global alliance of state agencies and private companies driving the technological change bringing us ever closer to the dream of life in space. Space geek favourite Professor Tamara Davis shares the compelling reasons why humanity continues to ‘look up’ to find the secrets to the past and future of earth and life, and what research, technology and discoveries have scientists excited in 2022.

Evie Kendal , lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology and member of Humanities, Arts & Social Science Space & Cosmology (HASS) Research Group, University of South Australia explores the complex ethical and moral dimensions to colonising space both for humankind and life on other planets, including lifeforms yet to evolve.
