ACT Minister for Water, Energy & Emissions Reduction, Shane Rattenbury MLA, will discuss the aims and progress of the ACT Zero Emissions Transport Strategy with particular reference to a current trial of 20 Hyundai Nexo hydrogen fuel cell electric cars being used as part of the government fleet. A background to the current ACT Climate Change Strategy will give the context to this work and outline the priorities for the ACT Government in meeting its near and medium term emissions reduction targets. The ACT Branch AGM will be held immediately after this speaker and the associated Q&A session. 

Please note the in-person element of this event will be held at the Ian Ross Building, School of Engineering (Building 31) North Road, Australian National University Campus. 

Speakers:

  • Shane Rattenbury MLA is the leader of the ACT Greens and a Member for Kurrajong. He is currently Attorney-General, Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reduction, Minister for Gaming, and Minister for Consumer Affairs. Prior to entering politics, Shane worked for Greenpeace International as the global Head of Oceans Campaigning.

  • Alex Killeen, Assistant Director for Zero Emissions Government & Community. Alex will be answering technical questions.
