For the thinkers, the activators and disrupters - join us for an evening of creative problem solving as we step into the new world. 

Agility and creativity are skills needed now, more than ever, as we navigate the post-Covid world.

This event will provide a forum for job seekers, founders and business leaders to work together to cook up fresh ideas and ways to approach the future.

Join the Imagineering Kitchen with Dave Lim, IdeasWorthDoing

Join us for an imaginative and engaging session where you'll get hands-on in groups to imagineer and cook up new inventions for new possible futures!  This experiential future game has been played in countless settings around the world to generate insight, creativity and fun.  It has been used to produce a design fiction show at Stanford d.school, train future makers at MIT Media Lab,  exponential inventions at Singularity U, and drive strategic conversations at UNESCO and UN Development Program.

More about Dave Lim:
Dave Lim is a polymath, provocateur, pioneer and possibilist Dave Lim delights in designing, launching and growing new ventures with people.  Dave has worked on all sides of entrepreneurial fence, as a venture capitalist and entrepreneur in the Pacific Rim and Silicon Valley, founder of Coca-Cola Innovation X,  a tech VC in $1bil APAC fund that in 1999 had invested in a small startup called Alibaba.com,  a design thinker and innovator, central banker and global fund manager of $100bil.  He has designed and curated numerous gatherings and festivals online and offline. Outside work, Dave was a pioneer TEDx in 2009 and TEDx Ambassador, helping grow this into a global movement.  He has studied at Singularity U, Stanford, Berkeley, UNSW and UBC.  Dave's favourite quote and challenge to you is  "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power and magic in it." -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Group pitches will be judged and prizes awarded on the night.

If you have been in a COVID-19 impacted area, hotspot or exposure site in Victoria, interstate or New Zealand, or reasonably suspect that a close contact has done so, you must immediately self-isolate for 14 days from last exposure and call the Victorian Department of Health on 1300 651 160. You must not attend a Pivott event at the Melbourne Innovation Hub during this time.

  • When attending an event:
  1. You will need to acknowledge a health declaration on entry to the venue. If you are feeling unwell on the day, we ask that you do not attend and call us to advise.
  2. You must display evidence of your double-vaccination certificate.
  3. You will need to scan a QR code on arrival at the front desk, for tracing purposes.
  4. Social distancing must be maintained at all times.
  5. All food and beverage service is cashless.
  6. Patrons are required to wear a mask at all times when indoors unless eating or drinking, and are asked to wear it in situations outdoors where they cannot socially distance.
